Ioana Ardelean

Ioana has started her scientific career in the filed of ecology and biodiversity, contributing to the understanding of human impact in habitat management. This brought her closer to molecular biology, transitioning to studying environmental variables in relation to genome and gene expression during her postdoc and afterwards.

She currently explores the genetic background of Ataxia–telangiectasia patients through Genome-wide association studies (GWAS) and associated ‘omic’ tools, trying to uncover the molecular mechanisms of this complex genetic disorder.
